1. All India Coordinated Integrated Farming Systems Research Project.
This Research Project was sponsored and solely financed by ICAR as sub centre. This has been in existence in one form or the other since 1957 in the department of agronomy, when it was initiated as “Model Agronomic experiments centre. However, during 6th five year plan this project has been reshaped and renamed as “Cropping systems research projects” with the main objectives of evolving cropping system and to investigate the production potential of intensive crop sequences. This project has been renamed as “Farming System Research’’ since April, 2009.
2. All India Coordinated Research Project for Dry Land Agriculture.
As a multidisciplinary approach to tackle the problems of raising successful crops on drylands, work was initiated with the establishment of All India Coordinated Research Projects for Dryland Agriculture at 23 centres in 1970, spreading all over the country. R.B.S. college, Agra centre was also approve by the ICAR and come into operation in Sept. 1970 as one of the sub centre with three disciplines comprising Agronomy, Soil Science and Agricultural Engineering.
